I see myself living out my calling
as a nurse in the next five years. In the next five years I hope to continue on
my education and receive a degree as a nurse practitioner (NP). I have a year
left to finish nursing school. I plan to enroll in a master level program right
after I graduate the nursing program. My plans in furthering my education after
nursing school are very important to me. I feel that a lot of students will
stop school to work in their jobs and forget to about advancing their field of
practice. I plan to work full time and
go to school to accomplish my dreams within the next five years. i kind of
nurse i want to be is a good nurse of course. i hope to implement human
becoming on a daily basis. It’s hard to
imagine that after nursing school we still need to know Parse theory of human becoming;
however i think that by learning this will make us better nurses in the future.
The Fundamental concern is how we can be faithful to God in our career. I
believe that being faithful to God is not an easy task to accomplish, however,
by being faithful to him and being obedient to his commandments. I think will
help me be a good Christian nurse. I
have learned the holistic approach of nursing which address all aspects of a
patient including spirituality. I think that using this holistic approach will
help me treat my patients but also help me be a faithful Christian to God.

Bullying in the healthcare workplace
Bullying in the work place can be a very stressful
situation. Bully is not acceptable at any age; it does not make it less serious
issue if the person getting bully is an older person. Bully can be both psychological
and physical abuse. In some circumstance bully can escalate to physical abuse. Emotional
and physical scares can cause serious problems in the future if unresolved. I have
not experience bully in the work place or in clinical setting, but I have heard
of stories of bullying from nurses. I hope to handle bullying the right way, I will
use the chain of commanded in order to handle this serious problem.
If I am being bullied I will keep calm and control the aggressor
by saying stop or stop bullying me. Bullying is very unhealthy it affects a person’s
self-esteem, poor work outcome, stress and physical ailments such as stomach
aches. I think that bullying is happening because other individuals who witness
the bullying do not stand up for what is right. Individuals who are witnessing
bullying are afraid of the aggressor redirecting their anger towards them. The next
generation of healthcare providers should be able to stop horizontal violence
by implementing a foundation of respect and love for each other. Basically teach
and live how Jesus lived and taught to his disciples. Treat others the way you
want to be treated is the foundation of Jesus teaching. It is better said than
done unfortunately, however this should not discourage nurses that want to eliminate
bully. By living a good Christian life and setting the example you’re self gives
a much stronger message then words.

Nursing is my purpose
What is my purpose in
life? I would often wonder where God would lead me. There were many choices I could
have chosen but why nursing. I also knew I wanted to help other people growing
up. I think that my up bring had a lot to do with my decision. I was brought up
in a loving home with two wonderful parents that always put everybody else
needs before theirs. I guess it was hard for them to be selfish bring up eleven
children I would love taking care of my younger sister and brother I felt like
a mom and that brought me great joy. I particularly had a special bound with my
sister Amparo. She was a loving guidance that always knew what to say to me to cheer
me up. Amparo was not any normal sister she was special and different I realized
growing up. I think that with my parents and sibling guidance it help me be a compassionate
person. I still don’t understand how God has chosen someone like me an undeserving person to be a nurse. It takes a special heart to be a nurse and
that has to come from God. Will I guess I have answered my own question what is
my purpose, my purpose in life is to be a nurse. God had blessed me with many
things but the greatest gift of all has been a heart to be a nurse and a mom. After
all isn't every mom a nurse any ways.
